Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how AI Eulogy Generator (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use our website at ai-eulogy-generator.com (the “Service”). The Service helps you write a eulogy: you enter a few details about your loved one, and we use an AI service to generate a draft you can edit and print.

We designed this Service to be as private as possible. You do not need an account, we do not store the details you enter, and we do not sell any information.

Information We Collect

We collect very little information:

  • Details you enter in the form. The name, relationship, and memories you provide are sent to our AI service provider (OpenRouter) once, solely to generate your eulogy draft. We do not store these details on our own servers, and we do not use them for any other purpose.
  • Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, in order to operate, secure, and monitor the Service. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
  • Analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service — pages visited, time on site, device and browser type, and approximate location. This involves cookies set by Google. We do not combine analytics data with the details you enter in the generator.

How We Use Information

  • To generate the eulogy draft you request;
  • To operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
  • To understand usage in aggregate so we can improve the Service;
  • To comply with legal obligations, if applicable.

AI Processing and OpenRouter

The details you enter are transmitted to OpenRouter to generate your eulogy. OpenRouter states that prompt retention is opt-in, and our integration does not enable prompt logging or data collection for training. Individual AI providers accessed through OpenRouter may have their own data-handling policies. You can review OpenRouter’s policies at openrouter.ai/docs/guides/privacy/data-collection.

Because the content you enter is sensitive in nature, we recommend that you do not include unnecessary personal information such as full addresses, phone numbers, or other identifiers.

Analytics and Advertising

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to measure how the Service is used. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as how often you visit, which pages you view, and which websites referred you. You can learn more about Google’s practices at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

We do not currently use advertising services such as Google AdSense. If we add advertising in the future, we will update this policy to describe the third-party cookies involved.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with the service providers needed to run the Service (such as Vercel for hosting and OpenRouter for AI generation), and only to the extent necessary to provide it. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.

Data Retention

We do not retain the details you enter into the generator. Server logs maintained by our hosting provider are kept in line with Vercel’s standard practices and are not used to build profiles of visitors.

Your Rights

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, so no opt-out of sale is needed.

EU/UK residents (GDPR): You may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
